The SUNY Rochester EOC (REOC) has been an established adult educational facility in the city of Rochester NY for over 50 years. Conveniently located in Downtown Rochester, the REOC has earned the reputation as one of the outstanding Centers in the state. REOC employees collaboratively provide skill and academic training necessary for students to continue to college or obtain a career. REOC has a strong connection to both SUNY Brockport and the University Center for Academic and Workforce Development. REOC is one of ten Educational Opportunity Centers (EOC) and two Career Counseling and Outreach Centers located throughout New York State, each with a commitment to supporting a diverse and inclusive workforce and student population. Job Summary:

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Clean, stock, and supply designated facility areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning, using auto scrubbers, shampooers and burnishers).
  • Ability to perform medium to heavy physical labor (up to 30 pounds).
  • Work independently as well as in a group setting.
  • Carry out heavy cleaning tasks and special projects.
  • Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs.
  • Safe use and application of cleaning chemicals.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations.
  • Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities.
  • May be required to follow specialized disinfectant, waste disposal, and cleanliness standards in performing cleaning tasks; remove snow and salt walkways; clean sidewalks.
Minimum Qualifications:

Labor Class: There are no education or experience requirements for this class. Cleaners
must be physically able to perform the tasks of the position and understand and carry out
written and oral instructions.

   
Work Schedule: 40 Hours/Week; Monday - Friday, 1:30pm-10:00pm
Salary and Benefits:

$15.49
