Job Summary: Drake Memorial Library seeks a collaborative and equity focused librarian for the role of Head of Access Services. The Head of Access Services will provide leadership and strategic direction for the Access Services unit including circulation, stacks management, reserves, interlibrary loan, room bookings, and space use in the library. They will foster a collaborative and inclusive environment for a knowledgeable team of 4 Library Clerks and 2 professional staff members, engaging staff in collaborative planning and decision making. They will develop and implement assessment strategies for services, functions, and student use of library space, using the results to improve library services. The successful candidate will be an advocate for inclusive and equitable access to library services, resources, and spaces, looking for creative ways to eliminate barriers to access. They will collaborate closely with librarians in other units to coordinate activities and services.

This is a faculty position, eligible for promotion and tenure in accordance with policies and procedures of SUNY, SUNY Brockport, and Drake Memorial Library.

Some evenings and weekends required.
Minimum Qualifications:

• MLS or equivalent from an ALA-accredited institution or international equivalent.
• Minimum of three years of library experience in public services or access services demonstrating increasing leadership responsibilities.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships with colleagues and peers (e.g. through committees, projects, teams, etc.).
• The ability to communicate effectively, listen well, and respond to student, staff, and faculty needs.
• Demonstrated commitment to contributing to a culturally diverse educational and work environment.
• The ability to manage multiple competing priorities and tasks.
• Demonstrated knowledge of current trends and practices in resource sharing, circulation, and/or library reserves.
• For appointment at the Associate Librarian rank: Evidence of the ability to engage in scholarship, service, and/or creative achievements as required for appointment at the Associate Librarian rank.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supervising full-time or part-time staff (not including student employees).
• Experience with Alma, including Alma analytics.
• Experience with ILLiad, including addons and web reports.
• Experience managing projects.
• Experience using evidence-based approaches to support improvements to library services.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm. Some evenings and weekends required
Salary and Benefits: Senior Assistant Librarian - $61,403 - $67,635, Associate Librarian - $65,627 - $72,189
