• Associate's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field by the time of appointment from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university with five years of relevant work experience.
• Minimum of three years of experience in electrical/mechanical building systems in utilities, facilities planning, design, construction, repair, maintenance, and project management.
• Strong computer skills in MS Office Suite.
• Proficiency in reading and understanding construction documents.
• Familiarity with computer aided design. 
• Must possess and maintain a valid state NYS driver’s license and pass LENS certification.
• Possess excellent planning, communication, and coordination skills.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously. 
• Practical understanding and experience in building codes, construction scheduling, quality assurance, facility renovation.  
• Experience in contractual procedures including bid analysis, contract and change order negotiations, cost estimating, RFI and dispute resolutions.
• Understanding of current energy efficient building systems and energy codes.
• Must physically inspect project sites and work, including but not limited to trench inspections, roof inspections and ability to climb ladders.

• Advanced education/coursework, licensed design professional as Electrical/Mechanical Engineer/PE.
• Experience working in higher education environment.
• NYS certified Code Compliance Technician (C.C.T.) or Code Enforcement Officer (C.E.O.).
• Experience in design of renewable energy systems.
• Strong Energy Management knowledge and expertise.
• Asbestos abatement experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Bluebeam.
