Job Summary: | The Department of Dance at SUNY Brockport is accepting applications for a full-time, tenure track, faculty with expertise in the practice, education, and research of theatrical and American vernacular dance forms, to join the nationally recognized and diverse faculty and professional staff at SUNY Brockport. This position supports the department’s continuing development of the Jazz Dance; Dance for Film and Television, and Musical Theater and Tourism curriculums that serves as the bridge between SUNY Brockport’s rich Sankofa traditions and strong contemporary/modern dance legacy. Mentoring graduate and undergraduate student scholars in the research and creation of dance for media and stage is also a responsibility of this position. The successful candidate will be called upon to teach in other movement and/or theory course to their area or interest/expertise, design new and innovative course work, create choreography for student and faculty concerts, support live and digital productions, build experiential learning experiences on and off campus, connect the department and the campus to the dance community beyond the University, and participate in shared governance throughout the campus. |
